JOB TITLE: Smart Home Installer
LOCATION: On-Site (Local Travel Required)
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time / Contract
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Smart Home Installer to support the installation and setup of residential smart home and audio/video systems. This role is ideal for someone hands-on who understands the basics of networking and AV systems and enjoys working in the field to bring modern homes to life.
Key Responsibilities
Install and configure smart home and low-voltage systems in residential environments
Run and terminate wiring for audio/video, networking, and control systems
Install and mount TVs, speakers, racks, cameras, and other devices
Set up and test home networks including routers, switches, and Wi-Fi systems
Assist with system setup, device integration, and final commissioning
Troubleshoot and resolve installation and connectivity issues on-site
Maintain clean, organized job sites and uphold company quality standards
Collaborate with programmers, project managers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery
Required Qualifications
Basic understanding of networking (Wi-Fi, routers, switches, IP devices)
Familiarity with audio/video systems and components
Experience with hand tools, power tools, and low-voltage installation practices
Ability to read and follow basic wiring diagrams and plans
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to lift equipment and work in construction environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with smart home platforms (e.g., Control4, Savant, Crestron, or similar)
Knowledge of structured wiring, rack building, and cable management
Experience mounting displays and installing distributed audio systems
Basic understanding of security systems (cameras, doorbells, access control)
Industry certifications (CEDIA, networking, or low-voltage related) a bonus
